Matt's Birthday and stuff
I'd like to give a big shout out to my buddy, Matthew! He's 25 yrs young today. Know what I was doing when I was 25? If you do, please let me know because I can't remember. Anyhoo, Happy B-day Matt. You ROCK!
We went out for Matt's birthday on Saturday night. A good time was had by all! I bought him a handfull of shooters and he serenaded the VLT/Wolf Sweater lady ( did I mention there was Karaoke ? ). Then he gave us all a lecture ( on mike ) about gambling and did a wonderful rendition of "Thing Called Love". Note to self: invest in a video camera.
I don't drink. Well, I shouldn't put it that way. It's not that I don't enjoy it or that I'm against it. I just don't go out and drink. Ok, that sounds really bad. I don't sit at home and drink, it's just that when I go out, I tend to drink wimpy stuff like cranberry juice and 7-up. WHY? I don't really have a solid reason, other than the fact I live in a small town and work/party in the city - no need to die on the highway because of a few drinks. I have a mini-van and thus feel compelled to ensure all my drunk friends have a ride to and fro. I have an aversion to spending the next day sleeping off a hangover - I don't have that kinda time to waste. The most important reason - Alchohol doesn't agree with me. It takes next to nothing to have an effect and next to nothing to make me feel like crap the next day ( or several...football bus - ICK! ).
People seem to either feel sorry for me or they keep asking me if I'm offended by their drinking. Don't feel sorry for me. I'm 30-something and if I wanted to have a drink, I would. Don't apologize to me. If I didn't want to party with you....I WOULDN'T BUY YOU DRINKS!!
